The Bike Was Stolen Yesterday 09/06/2010 across the street form Dos Toros Taqueria at 4th Ave between 13th and 14th street between the hours 11:30am-3pm.
I just moved to NY and started biking to work and I hated that it was stolen already, it was locked through the frame and both wheels.
My bike has special pedals for cleats,9 gears in back and 2 at front tiagra crank arms, dura ace back derailleur, one light blue, black bottle cages and a third one under the bar close to the pedals and crank set. it has the house sticker(white color) by the head tube, black saddle which i don’t remember the brand but it was new.
the wheels are select brand and has winter skinny tires. black tape handle bar.

Whaddya Got to Say?: it has black tape holding the back brake cable that goes through the top tube, it has dents as well all over but you can still read cannondale pretty well. I can’t find a decent picture but I hope this one will help

In addition to the above described detail, it has a wire basket, a bell, front and rear lights, and a mount for a pump (which, thankfully, was in my kitchen when the bike was stolen).
They severed my locking cable and stole it from the courtyard of my building. Stolen some time between 5:00 PM Monday 8/30 (when I put it there) and 6:15 AM the next day, the next time I left my building.
I haven’t received confirmation, but I think another neighbor of mine had his bike stolen from the same courtyard the next day.

I bought the bike in 2000 from a bike shop in Colorado called Wheatridge Cyclery. Their shop sticker was on the inside frame of the bike, behind the water bottle carriage. The bike is in good condition and should have one original tire on the back, a 26″ Keith Bontrager rim and tire (the front wheel I have). It has basic Shimano gear shifts and brakes. It has a black leather seat with a thin strip of red cloth in its design; there is a small tear in the seat, I believe in the leather portion on the back. Standard aluminum pedals with black nylon straps. Seat and tires all quick-release. Water bottle carriage is white.
It was locked in front of Mark Morris Dance Center on Lafayette Street in Brooklyn in the late morning of August 28, 2010. It was stolen between 11:30AM and 2:00PM. My tire remained locked in the Kryptonite U-lock left behind. Called 311 and then the police and ended up not filing a report because it was not registered nor insured.
I’m continuing the check craigslist.org for its posting.

Whaddya Got to Say?: The bike definitely looked below average for the area, I’m surprised it was taken. It was locked with a kryptonite u-lock to a no-parking sign through the frame.

I locked my bike up outside of 120 Wall St in Manhattan in the morning before work (around 9:30 am) and when I came out of my building at around 12:30 pm it was gone. It is a silver and blue Le Monde Alpe d’Huez with Bontrager components, and it had a small “Wheelwhorks” sticker on it (I can’t remember where on the bike – either below the handlebars or near the pedals).

The theft occurred on 10/26/2010 in Union Square Manhattan. The lock got busted. The bike is very unique it is a bright blue carbon fiber Y frame full suspension with Yellow Rock Shox Judy Front fork and fox rear shock. The Bike stands out, it is an older model with old shimano XTR shifters with the shift gauge (H-L) on the left handle bar missing. The bike has silver shimano clip-in pedals.

Whaddya Got to Say?: I filed a police report on the bike, it was stolen right in front of the loading dock of Whole Foods in Union Square. Police officer suggested that the guy might try to sell it to a delivery restaurant for some quick cash…
